Ivan Rangelov
Ivan Rangelov (born March 15, 1994, Vidin, Bulgaria) is an actor whose journey has been shaped by a heritage of performance, a deep commitment to craft, and an unflinching dedication to truth in storytelling. His father, actor and former theatre director Krasimir Rangelov, and grandmother, folk singer Maria Rangelova, immersed him in the world of performance from an early age.
After completing his secondary education in Vidin, Ivan earned his degree in Acting from Bulgaria’s National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFA) in 2018. His diploma project, the one-man show Ilia's Passion by Dimo Deshev, marked the beginning of his professional stage career.
Over the following years, he built a strong repertory at the Vidin Drama Theatre “Vladimir Trendafilov,” performing in more than ten lead and supporting roles. His credits ranged from Butterflies Are Free to Exclusively for Men (by Dario Fo), The Irony of Fate, Women’s Kingdom, State of Emergency, and We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! (by Dario Fo). Known for inhabiting his characters with striking emotional depth — including a powerful performance as a blind character in Butterflies Are Free — Ivan developed a distinctive command of both psychological nuance and physical storytelling.
In 2023, Ivan moved to Los Angeles to expand his career into film and television. His screen work includes the TV series Stolen Life, Brothers, and River Across My Heart, as well as the feature film Men of Fire, showcasing his ability to translate his theater-honed craft to the screen. Ivan continues to seek out roles that challenge him, exploring stories that demand authenticity and push the boundaries of his range across mediums.
