Our
Story
Equivoque Pictures is a Los Angeles–based film and television production company founded by filmmaker and actor Yavor Vesselinov.
Our focus is on creating films and series that explore emotional dislocation, memory, and intimacy, tracing how personal histories are shaped by larger, unseen currents — social, cultural, and global. We are drawn to those quiet, haunting stories that linger just beneath the surface, aiming to “make visible what, without us, might otherwise never have been seen.”
Equivoque Pictures is committed to ambitious, auteur-driven storytelling that resonates beyond the screen, connecting with audiences across borders and leaving a lasting emotional impact.
Our
Artistic
Vision
We are devoted to storytelling that resonates beyond the screen.
-
Stories that linger: Films that provoke, unsettle, and echo long after they end.
-
Cinematic precision: Tone, rhythm, and atmosphere are as vital as narrative.
-
Memory & identity: Exploring longing, dislocation, and what remains unspoken.
-
Cross-cultural perspective: Blending European sensibilities with the boldness of Los Angeles.
-
Subtle humor: Used sparingly, to reveal life’s contradictions.
-
Borderless filmmaking: Stories that move freely across geography and emotion.
Our
Core
Values
The principles that guide our work:
-
Integrity: Truth at the heart of every story and collaboration.
-
Courage: Taking creative risks, challenging conventions, daring to go deeper.
-
Collaboration: Building trust with talent, crew, and audiences.
-
Empathy: Elevating unheard voices and embracing complexity.
-
Craftsmanship: Excellence in every detail, from the first frame to the last.
-
Visibility: Bringing overlooked people and narratives into focus.
Mission
We develop and produce films and television projects that are bold, deeply human, and visually distinctive. Our work embraces auteur-driven storytelling with the ambition and craft to connect with international audiences and festival circuits, creating cinematic experiences that resonate beyond the screen.
