Maria Bobeva
Maria Bobeva is a Bulgarian-born actor, writer, and producer whose work embodies emotional authenticity, grounded in real-life stories and a raw, vulnerable voice. Born in Burgas to parents who worked as music and light designers, she was immersed in theater from an early age, making her stage debut at age 6. She went on to train at Bulgaria’s prestigious National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts (NATFIZ) in Sofia, honing her craft and performing in major stage productions in her home country.
In pursuit of larger horizons, Maria later moved to the U.S. Her screen credits include the short film Blinks (2021), Fate’s Shadow: The Whole Story (2021), and she is a director/producer of Scarlet (2024). She has also crafted work for herself—writing, directing and starring in Audition, where she explored themes of ambition, identity, and motherhood, among others.
Maria’s artistic vision is steeped in stories that reflect the intersection of culture, displacement, and longing, always delivered with unguarded sensitivity. Whether on stage or screen, she seeks roles and projects that allow her to uncover the vulnerable, inner truths beneath each character.
